Morgan Reed joined the State of Arizona in 2015 after two decades of working in the technology industry at large enterprises in the private sector. As the State’s Chief Information Officer, Morgan is responsible for driving the State of Arizona’s technology strategy and executing the transformation of government services to a citizen-centric approach.
Specializing in implementing new technologies, improving service delivery and driving change, Morgan has a diverse background having managed nearly every area of information technology engineering and operations. He is also a forward-thinker who understands the importance of consistent innovation.
During Morgan’s tenure with the state, he has implemented a statewide cloud-first strategy and has made significant enhancements to cybersecurity. Arizona is now recognized to be one of the best-protected state governments in the nation.
Prior to joining the State of Arizona, Morgan led global infrastructure delivery teams at GoDaddy and Expedia and also worked at large IT organizations including Intel and Wells Fargo. Morgan holds a Bachelors degree in Business Operations from DeVry University.
During his off hours, Morgan enjoys spending time with his three children and two dogs and he calls Scottsdale, Arizona home.
