The results of the 2024 Digital States Survey have been published. Arizona has earned an overall grade of A-minus, exemplifying qualities of a mature and continuously evolving enterprise information technology organization serving the public.

A grade of “A” reflects a state that demonstrated very strong innovation, high high-performing solutions with verifiable impacts across all categories. Excellent practices have been applied in all aspects of their operations, governance and administration.

By publishing annual IT strategic plans, securing funding for IT projects through Project Investment Justification submissions, and clearly defining and complying with statewide policies, standards and procedures, the state is fully equipped to maintain continuity in daily work, projects and initiatives to ensure ongoing success.

In the Digital States Survey category awards, Arizona earned first place for our exemplary work in resilience, recognizing the state’s ability to maintain continuous technical and business operations during peak usage, disasters and crisis conditions.

“I'm honored to work with such an excellent team and very proud of the daily work to ensure Arizona's critical systems remain operational, no matter the circumstances,” said Director of Digital Solutions Anebi Agbo, who works in the Arizona Strategic Enterprise Technology (ASET) office. “This first-place ranking is a testament to the team's dedication and expertise.”

The state of Arizona has consistently maintained an A-minus grade on the Digital States Survey since 2020.

About the Digital States Survey

The Digital States Survey is released biennially by the Center for Digital Government and enables all 50 states to complete a detailed IT self-audit to cover current operational status, accomplishments of the past two years and plans for the future. This can serve as a baseline for IT strategic planning exercises, priorities and operations. Additionally, the Digital States Survey provides nationwide recognition from a third-party report source for greater credibility between state agencies and the public.
