Arizona State CIO J.R. Sloan Named NASCIO Secretary-Treasurer
Phoenix - J.R. Sloan, State Chief Information Officer of Arizona, has been named the new Secretary-Treasurer of the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) Executive Committee.
The initial announcement was made during the 2023 NASCIO Conference held on October 8-11. In addition to his new role with NASCIO, Sloan will continue to serve as State CIO.
“I am honored to be elected to this role and look forward to serving alongside my colleagues to lead this organization that has provided so much value to me and supported my ability to lead Arizona,” said Sloan.
J.R. Sloan is a results-driven leader with over 20 years of experience in technology and 15 years in leading product and program teams. He is certified in Pragmatic Marketing and Product Management and his educational background includes Electrical Engineering at the University of Arizona and Architecture and Environmental Design at Arizona State University.
Under Sloan’s leadership, recent statewide successes include the successful migration of over 2,800 applications to the cloud and the transition to a Cloud Smart policy.
