Phoenix (April 23, 2025)– Through the Arizona Business One Stop portal, nearly 1,500 new businesses are automatically approved annually, with 86% of partnership applications and 70% of trade name applications also auto-approved by the system, making this online service a vital partner for Arizonans creating and conducting businesses.
These innovations save 13,473 business days compared to processing paper applications for new businesses. For entrepreneurs, that’s less time waiting in line and more time building their businesses.
The Business One Stop portal delivers a personalized process for new and seasoned business owners to streamline registration and maintenance for a new or renewing business in Arizona. The portal enables users to self-navigate across all required applications from start to finish — without ever setting foot in a government office.
Features of the portal include a personalized dashboard to track progress, manage filings and offer relevant resources in one integrated space. With step-by-step guidance, clear instructions and helpful tips, entrepreneurs are guided through each step of the process. These resources eliminate the long approval times associated with physical paperwork and streamline interagency processes.
“Business One Stop fosters a business-friendly environment in Arizona by simplifying interactions with the state government for registration, processing and compliance,” said Elizabeth Alvarado Thorson, director of the Arizona Department of Administration. “As a result, the State of Arizona encourages entrepreneurship, attracts investment and promotes economic growth through job creation, increased revenue and improved competitiveness. This is the type of innovation we strive for every day.”
In particular, the portal supports Arizona’s thriving small business community and empowers any resident of Arizona to become an entrepreneur. Residents who own or want to start a business in Arizona have access to an option that is comprehensive and intuitive. On average, 1,497 new businesses are auto-approved and created in Business One Stop each year. By reducing the number of paper processes, limiting customer rework on applications and approving applications automatically without manual intervention, Business One Stop helps reduce the overhead for the state’s business registration process. Additionally, Business One Stop application submissions are approved at a rate 15% higher than paper applications, cutting time from a process that might otherwise take three weeks to complete by paper.
