The State of Arizona will be hosting a hiring event for Military, Veterans, (and Spouses), and General Public on March 15, 2024.

This in-person event will be held at the Wesley Bolin Plaza on the Capitol Mall in downtown Phoenix. It will be open from 10 a.m. to noon to active duty military, Veterans and their spouses. The general public is welcome to attend from noon until 2 p.m.

Recruiters and hiring managers from more than two dozen State agencies will be on hand, with many prepared to extend immediate tentative job offers on-site. Specialists will also be available to offer tips for improving resume writing and interview skills.

The State of Arizona currently employs approximately 3,100 military Veterans, which is approximately 9 percent of the State’s workforce. Since 2021, the State has coordinated an initiative, AZHiresVets!, to increase the number of Veterans through enhanced recruitment, hiring, and employee retention.

Why? Because the State recognizes the value of having military Veterans as employees. Veterans embody the “service before self” mindset the State desires in its public servants. Exceptionally disciplined and possessing a strong work ethic, Veterans are natural leaders and problem solvers and are often among the best-trained workers available in a competitive job market.

The State of Arizona offers Veterans an opportunity to continue serving their communities and fellow citizens. There are more than 1,500 types of positions to choose from in over 100 agencies, boards, and commissions - all working for a single employer: the State of Arizona. Jobs are available throughout Arizona, with many State employees working remotely from home. Full-time positions offer ample paid benefits including competitive health care, ample personal leave, and a guaranteed pension for eligible retirees.

Periodically throughout the year, the State hosts virtual and in-person hiring events to attract prospective Veteran applicants and their spouses, as well as active duty Reservists and National Guard members seeking employment or who are interested in pursuing career opportunities.
