GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES

Problem Solving Learning Group

Through participation in the learning group, the SALC members' knowledge, skills, abilities, and confidence in problem-solving will be enhanced to meet the needs of their agency and any challenges or problems.

Our state government leaders, having honed their problem-solving skills, collaboratively tackle complex challenges with agility and precision. As a result, they drive positive change, reduce problem recurrence, and enhance overall efficiency in government.

  • Discuss problem-solving successes of the day from your peers in the SALC program.
  • Learn and apply standard problem-solving tools through practical application.
  • Develop skills to reduce the time to resolution of problems and avoid recurrence.

Organizational Change Management Learning Group

Through participation in the Organizational Change Management Community of Practice, the SALC members' knowledge, skills, abilities, and confidence in change management will be enhanced to meet the needs of their agency and whatever change implementations they engage in.

Specifically, members will demonstrate competency through practical application in their day-to-day professional career, demonstrating that they understand Change Management is:

  • People focused, leader focused, and sustainability focused.
  • Planning for change, managing, implementing, and communicating change, and how to sustain change.
  • Involving people, working collaboratively for a common purpose, demonstrating the purpose for change, addressing resistance, measuring and evaluating the incremental and overall performance, being agile, and adjusting, as needed, as change evolves.

Mentoring Program

The SALC mentoring program is designed to build upon the vast knowledge of the SALC members to partner with one another to take advantage of the strengths in particular areas for the benefit of a fellow member. The member of each cohort may be a mentee or mentor (or both) depending on each person's individual goals and the number of mentoring partnerships they choose.

  • SALC members can apply to be a mentee, mentor, or both.
  • The mentoring partnership will be a 6-month duration.
  • Time commitment is a minimum of 1 hour per month.
  • The application process will be managed by a team that matches the mentee and mentor.
  • Mentees will have specific goals and/or learning objectives.
  • Partnering agreement as well as a confidentiality agreement.
  • Measurable Outcomes.
